There are many ways to teach bridge, but it all comes back to the following:
Fun
First and foremost, bridge must be fun. That Dan makes sure of always. We play to enjoy ourselves, to enjoy our friends. Bridge is a wonderful game with endless variety. During a session, Dan never makes comments on his partner's bidding or play, to make sure everyone has fun.
Learning
To succeed at bridge requires the humility to realize nobody is perfect, and everybody makes mistakes. Try not to make the same ones twice. Dan offers his 15 years of tournament success and teaching experience to you. But best of all, Dan teaches students how to think about each hand, over-the-shoulder style.
Practice
Each student must go out and play as many hands as possible. There is no way around this. Play just 3 hands if that is all there is time for. Play with random people. Play with your favorite partner. But ... play a lot! Soon you will be saying, "Hey, I've seen this situation before and I know what [not] to do now!" Also, with a partnership, it takes lots of practice to oil the gears so everything is running smoothly.
Winning
This is where it all comes together. Whether it's at the 49'er game or the Regional Open Swiss or the 11am Speedball, Dan will prepare you to win.
